A “Heart Healthy Lunch” was also served to guests and included a Louisiana-inspired winter salad, followed by grilled chicken breast with a portobello demi glace and sides of Louisiana jasmine rice, seasonal, local vegetables and a buttered roll. A decadent dark chocolate almond tart with espresso crème anglaise was served with coffee or tea for dessert. Passion Presentations and the Go Red Fashion Show took place after lunch. Local heart disease survivors, along with other New Orleans women dedicated to the cause, were chosen to be models for the fashion show. The music and lighting for the luncheon were provided by X-pert D.J. Services.

Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of the death for women in the United States. “Go Red For Women” seeks to educate as well as inform women of the risks and puts emphasizes on methods of prevention.
